OptumHealth’s Hispanic Web site wins highest health care honor for ease of use
LOS ANGELES – Multicultural interactive advertising agency Sensis has created an award-winning Hispanic Web site for OptumHealth and its sister company UnitedHealthcare. The site, MenteSana-CuerpoSano.com, received the 2008 Best in Class award at the 2008 Interactive Media Awards (IMA) ceremony in the health care category. This award represents the best in planning, execution and professionalism and is the highest honor bestowed by the Interactive Media Council, a non-profit organization of Web-related professionals.
“We strive to offer our clients competitive, targeted Web sites that not only draw visitors but make an impact on audiences. Unlike other Spanish language wellness Web sites, MenteSana-CuerpoSano.com addresses the fact that Hispanics often rely on community support and an extended family network during times of need. Using a family-focused approach, the site helps educate and motivate more people in the Hispanic community to seek mental health and substance use treatment,” Sensis CEO Jose Villa said. “We helped OptumHealth launch its first major online effort in Spanish within the mental health field, and the IMA validates our design and showcases how our strategies and techniques can successfully reach the Hispanic marketplace.”
Studies have shown that Hispanics look for community support when dealing with their health, and this new site was designed to utilize OptumHealth’s existing health care information to benefit the Hispanic population. MenteSana-CuerpoSano.com also has a password protected section that is the Spanish-language companion to OptumHealth Behavioral Solution’s member portal, liveandworkwell.com.
“Sensis’ understanding of the Hispanic market was a major factor in our desire to work with them,” said Jonathan Schmidt, vice president, product development for OptumHealth Behavioral Solutions. “Together, we created a Web site that is much more than a simple translation. MenteSana-CuerpoSano.com is culturally attuned to the Hispanic population and provides valuable health and wellness information. We are very pleased with the role Sensis played in creating an award-winning Web site.”
To win an IMA, each award entry has to successfully pass through a comprehensive judging system where points are assigned in five categories including design, content, feature functionality, usability, standards compliance and cross browser compatibility. The maximum points each campaign can receive is 500 and overall scores between 480 and 500 receive the Best in Class award.
